Sri Chaitanya Institute of Vaishnavic Culture

Sri Chaitanya Institute of Vaishnavic Culture was registered as a Society in June 1978 by Baba in Bhubaneshwar.

In February 1980, in response to an application for grant of land, a plot was granted to the institute at A-19 Sahid Nagar. Baba took possession of the site on 17th April 1980, the auspicious Akshaya Tritiya day of that year.

Baba laid the foundation of the Institute and Sri Gauranga Ashram which is an integral part of it and is the fountain-head of inspiration for the spiritual and religious activities of the Institute.

By 22nd August 1980, the first phase of construction of the Ashram building was over and Baba inaugurated the Institute.

The institute is managed by an Executive Committee under the guidance of Baba.

Srimad Bhagavat katha, Braj leela kirtan, discourses on the lives of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, his associates and other saints of the vaishnav sampradaya are some of the regular activities carried out by the Institute.

A charitable dispensary staffed by a doctor and a compounder started functioning in one part of the premises in January 1981 and continues to provide free medical treatment to the poor to this day.

On 19th November 1981, the temple of Sri Lakshmi Nrisingha dev was consecrated by Baba adding a divine embellishment to the entire Ashram.

Finally, in the fitness of things, Baba also rests here in his Maha Samadhi.
Baba's samadhi mandir will be constructed in the same place where his current temporary samadhi kutir is located.
